About 3.4 seconds after I joined Pinterest I decided that this Christmas I was going DIY. And I’ve got big plans. Big plans that mostly involve me sitting alone in a room with a mess of color and paper and adhesive surrounding me.
Exciting, right?
Since I already spend as many of my waking moments as is possible crocheting, obviously, some people are getting crocheted goodies.
And since I’ve decided that I really like the idea of body scrubs, obviously, some other people are getting delicious body scrubs.
Also, I’m making Christmas cards. I KNOW. Who am I?
Honestly, I’ve always been an artsy, fartsy, wanna-be DIY-er. I love sitting down and not getting up for hours only to find pieces of paper stuck to my pants, glue on my fingers and marker on my face. It’s fun. It’s sort of therapeutic.
And really, as cheesy as it is, I love receiving homemade goods. There’s something so personal about getting a gift someone made; put themselves into. (I mean, would it be too much to say it’s sort of magical? I sure hope not.) So I’d like to think other people love receiving homemade goods.
So, yeah. That’s how it’s going to be this year.
So please don’t judge me if I show up with yarn stuck in my hair, eraser bits all over my shirt, or rainbowed fingertips.
Or all three.
Because it’s highly likely that is exactly how I’ll show up.

Yay! I did a DIY Christmas a few years ago. The dirty hippie in me can get a little disgusted by the commercialism of the holiday season and I really like to spend time when I select gifts for people and select the perfect gift.
I made scarves, blankets, ornaments, baked stuff for the men and made my brothers t-shirts.
Even the kids (my baby cousins) really liked it.
